Description
I've been using Firefly Boards to gather inspiration, experiment with concepts and visualise different directions before I start building everything by hand in the studio.
But I don't stop at the idea stage.
I've started using Boards while I'm actually shooting, bringing my images into the board as I go so I can build compositions, test layouts and see how everything is coming together before I've finished the shoot. It means I can reshoot, reshape or refine ideas there and then, while I'm still surrounded by the set.
It's completely changed the way I work. Instead of waiting until I'm in Photoshop to discover what works, I can see the vision taking shape in real time.
Then, when I move into Photoshop, my Board becomes a visual blueprint. I can refer back to the creative decisions I made throughout the shoot, carry those ideas into the edit, and make sure the final artwork stays true to the original vision.
It's become much more than a mood board, it's now part of my entire creative process, from the first spark of an idea to the final artwork.
