Aamir Khan on Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike: Aamir Khan has finally addressed the long-running belief that the iconic character 'Phunsukh Wangdu' (Rancho) from the blockbuster film 3 Idiots was based on education reformer Sonam Wangchuk.

Speaking at the London Indian Film Festival, Aamir Khan clarified that neither he nor the writers knew Sonam Wangchuk when the screenplay was written. He also stated that he did not know Wangchuk personally at the time and called it "a misconception that has existed for many years."

While rejecting the claim, Aamir praised Sonam Wangchuk's work and said that his contributions deserve recognition on their own, without being linked to any fictional movie character.

Aamir Khan also expressed concern over Sonam Wangchuk's indefinite hunger strike, saying many people are worried about his deteriorating health and hope he ends the fast soon.

Responding to a viral video by his 3 Idiots co-star Omi Vaidya, who had claimed that Phunsukh Wangdu was inspired by Sonam Wangchuk, Aamir categorically stated that the claim is not true.

Aamir Khan on Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike: बॉलीवुड अभिनेता आमिर खान ने पहली बार साफ कर दिया है कि फिल्म 3 Idiots का चर्चित किरदार फुंसुख वांगडू (Rancho), सोनम वांगचुक पर आधारित नहीं था। उन्होंने कहा कि जब फिल्म की कहानी लिखी जा रही थी, तब न तो उन्हें और न ही फिल्म के लेखकों को सोनम वांगचुक के बारे में कोई जानकारी थी और वह उन्हें व्यक्तिगत रूप से भी नहीं जानते थे।

आमिर खान ने कहा कि "यह एक गलतफहमी है, जो कई सालों से लोगों के बीच बनी हुई है।" उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सोनम वांगचुक जो काम कर रहे हैं, वह अपने आप में बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है और उनके सम्मान के लिए उन्हें किसी फिल्मी किरदार से जोड़ने की जरूरत नहीं है।
