Description

As devastating floods battered parts of Texas Wednesday evening, one local meteorologist took an unexpected pause from the forecast to do something else entirely: pray.

Bill Taylor, chief meteorologist at San Antonio’s KENS 5, briefly stepped away from the weather maps during a live broadcast to pray for the families and first responders facing the flooding.

“I just want to pause right now and pray,” Taylor said. “Heavenly Father, we just ask that You would be with every family that’s been impacted by these floods. We pray for protection over those still in harm’s way and for the first responders risking their lives to help others. Give them strength, wisdom and peace.”

Taylor then returned to his forecast, continuing to provide viewers with updates on the dangerous weather conditions.
