We kicked off the action at the 2026 Pigeon Forge Rod Run with something absolutely mind-blowing! While waiting for the cars to load into the show, I got a chance to catch up with my friend and get a clean, up-close walkaround video of his brand-new 2025 Ford Mustang GTD. Stick around until the end, because I also caught a shot of this beast driving out!
This isn't just any regular pony car. The Mustang GTD is Ford’s street-legal version of their GT3 race car. Under that heavily vented carbon fiber hood sits a massive 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 pumping out a ridiculous 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque! From the wide-body stance and giant carbon-ceramic brakes to that insane C-pillar mounted active aero rear wing, every single inch of this car is built to absolutely destroy a racetrack—yet it wears a license plate.
It’s always awesome seeing high-end engineering like this mixed in with the classic hot rods and restomods at the Rod Run.
