In the southern west Saudi region, the landscape shifts completely, from mountain peaks and crater-like formations to greenery, waterfalls and cooler, misty air. It’s a region that feels very different to the desert scenes many associate with Saudi.
From the Marble Village in Al Baha to the vast Wahba Crater near Taif, the scenery is constantly changing. In Aseer, places like Rijal Almaa Heritage Village showcase the Al Qatt Al Aseeri artform, a traditional style created by Aseeri women, adding a strong cultural identity to the region.
With higher altitudes and milder temperatures, it’s become a popular spot for hiking, exploring and experiencing a slower pace shaped by the landscape.
