No mother should have to watch her children live in fear.
Saamandhi, a courageous mother from Madhavaram, Tiruvallur District, has spent years carrying the weight of her family alone. With two mentally challenged sons and an elderly husband who is unable to work, she became the only earning member of the family by doing daily wage work at a cremation ground.
Despite her hard work, her family lived in a small, damaged hut where rainwater flooded inside, snakes and poisonous insects entered at night, and every day was a struggle for survival. Safety, peace, and hope seemed out of reach.
When Saamandhi approached The Healer Foundation, she asked for only one thing—a safe home where her children could sleep without fear.
Touched by her story, The Healer Foundation built a new home for the family. Today, they live under a secure roof with dignity, safety, and renewed hope for the future.
This is more than the story of a house. It is the story of a mother's courage, a family's resilience, and how compassion can transform lives.
