Description
Another day of classic spring conditions on the St. Lawrence River with high winds making things challenging from the start. We started out deep and found plenty of fish, but getting them to actually commit and bite was a completely different story. After making some adjustments, we decided to head shallow and focus on making accurate casts around key structure. Once we dialed that in, the quality showed up in a big way.
Our biggest fish today weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and we caught a bunch of other really solid smallmouth throughout the day. Conditions continue to change daily, and being willing to adjust is everything this time of year.
