The 2026 Monte Rosa Walserwaeg by UTMB 50K delivered a masterclass in high-altitude racing across the rugged and legendary trails of the Aosta Valley.
Featuring an unforgiving profile under the shadow of Europe’s iconic 4,000-meter peaks, the 50K course forced the international field to tackle relentless vertical climbs, technical alpine singletracks, and burning descents.
The highly anticipated Men's battle turned into an absolute thriller and a relentless dogfight until the very last kilometers. Defending champion Petter Engdahl (SWE) had to dig to his absolute limits to protect his crown, crossing the finish line just a single minute ahead of a phenomenal William Boffelli (ITA) after miles of neck-and-neck racing. Luca Del Pero (ITA) completed the stellar performance by securing a strong third place to lock down the podium. In the Women's field, the racing was just as fierce, with Italy's Fabiola Conti putting on a dominant display of climbing power to claim a magnificent victory on home soil ahead of Emily Schmitz and Bleunwenn Heleu.
