When it comes to removing fan clutches, things can get rather challenging. In this video I'll give you four methods to remove a fan clutch. Hopefully one of these methods will serve you well.
Note: This video is meant to just show you how to get a fan clutch loose from the water pump. It does not go over the process off actually getting to the fan clutch to remove it. Please refer to your repair manual for instructions on how to properly and safely access the fan clutch.
Warning!! The fan clutch is a part of the cooling system and so is the water pump that it attaches to. Special care needs to be taken when working on the cooling system. Please be sure the vehicle has completely cooled before attempting this. The system should also be depressurized before working on it. Depressurizing cooling system not shown in video. Working on a hot cooling system can lead to personal injury. Please refer to a repair manual for specifics on safely repairing a cooling system.
