Hello my loves, this is my much anticipated birth story. This is very personal but I really wanted to share my story because it truly makes me upset that so many women come away from giving birth feeling like they didn’t have a say or they feel they got pushed down a certain avenue. I’m very passionate about empowering women to follow their instincts and to trust their bodies in these vulnerable moments.
My birth experience this time round was quite different with Miley being breeched presentation the whole time, but I felt I was being led to only a couple of options which I didn’t want. I felt very disheartened as my loved ones felt really worried after a lot of negative conversations with consultants etc. This is why I was so grateful to Heather my midwife from Private midwives who gave me the confidence and confirmation I needed to know I could have a home birth despite her being footling breech!
I know that there are always emergencies and situations that cannot be helped but I just wish women believed in themselves more and we were encouraged to be more instinctual about the whole process.
