Lyrics:
Do you miss me on your shoulder Can you picture us and keep your composure As you miss me getting older I wonder if you even need the closure Yeah you call me on my birthdayI’m surprised you know the date in the first place You show up on all the good days And when you do I start to think that you’ve changed But every year you let me down the same
Don’t say you love me just because I’m somebody that you’re supposed to love Don’t say you’re sorry just because You think the words alone would be enough ‘Cause I want you to care, and not because you have to I wish that you’d be there and I would never have to ask you But it feels like I’ll never be more than just Somebody that you’re supposed to love
You don’t have me on your night stand Does anybody ever ask you who I am Don’t wanna question every smile on your face And all the little promises that you make There’s only so much more that I can take
Don’t say you love me just because I’m somebody that you’re supposed to love Don’t say you’re sorry just because You think the words alone would be enough ‘Cause I want you to care, and not because you have to I wish that you’d be there and I would never have to ask you But It feels like I’ll never be more than just Somebody that you’re supposed to
Love when it all gets bad Hold even when you’re mad I’m dying to believe you When you say that I’m all you have Wish it could be enough Knowing I share your blood But I know that I’ll never be more than just Somebody that you’re supposed to love
