Part 2 of our Wales travel guide picks up where the Cambrian Way left off, taking us on a North Wales road trip through Snowdonia National Park and down the coast back to Cardiff. This things-to-do-in-Wales itinerary covers it all: an underground adventure at Zip World's Bounce Below, our 7-year olds first zip line on the four-person TITAN, a stop at one of the most photographed tearooms in the UK, and all eight towers of Conwy Castle...one of the best medieval castles in Wales. We visit the train station with the longest name in the world. We cross the historic Menai Suspension Bridge onto Anglesey for a high-speed boat tour, visit the village with the longest name in Europe, and spend two nights in Portmeirion, the Italian-style village hidden in Wales. From there it's the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the colourful harbour town of Aberaeron, and a night inside the walls of Cardigan Castle. A dolphin-spotting trip in Cardigan Bay, a giraffe-themed glamping stay at Folly Farm...one of the best family activities in Pembrokeshire...a beachfront dinner in Saundersfoot, and a final night at the Vale Resort round out this Wales family vacation. Castles, coastlines, mountains, and hidden gems...this is why Wales belongs on every UK road trip itinerary.
