If you get a traffic ticket in Houston, don’t just pay it.
I was pulled over and cited for three violations, including “following too closely.” If I had just paid the ticket, it would have cost me over $3,000 in fines and increased insurance over the next few years.
The problem is, I didn’t do anything wrong.
I was driving a Tesla Model Y on Full Self-Driving, and everything was recorded. The footage clearly showed what actually happened.
Even after explaining the situation, I was still cited.
I decided to call James Rubin at Rubin & Rolong, and Roy Rolong handled the case. He reviewed the footage and showed it directly to the prosecutor.
All three citations were dismissed. I never had to go to court.
I paid $400 for representation, and that decision likely saved me thousands.
This is not a paid promotion. I found Rubin & Rolong through a post by Mark Thiessen, a criminal trial lawyer in Houston, and I’m glad I did.
If you’re dealing with a traffic ticket that could affect your driving record, don’t assume the ticket is correct and don’t take the easy route.
The right lawyer and clear video evidence can completely change the outcome.
