With her confident and loving personality, Rita Jean is certainly one in a “melon!” 🍉 On July 23, 2026, Rita Jean’s Animal Care team gathered to celebrate her first birthday with frozen treats, cardboard signs, and cardboard boxes. Not only did she love it, but her mom Sunny and aunt Rudy loved joining in on the celebrations, too. In August, you can help us celebrate Rita Jean’s birthday, Ollie’s upcoming birthday, and Asian Elephant Awareness month too when you join us at the Zoo on August 1, 2026!
