Wildflower fields hide a resource that can save your life. In this video, I forage winecup (Callirhoe involucrata) tubers, wild onions, and pepperweed to create a simple batch of survival mashed potatoes cooked over the fire.
A wildflower growing in an open field might not look like much from a survival perspective, but these nutritious underground tubers can provide surprisingly useful calories when other food sources are scarce. Join me as I harvest, prepare, and cook these wild edibles while discussing their role in survival, bushcraft, and self-reliance.
I also share an update on Huck, my faithful red heeler. Sadly, Huck has recently lost his vision due to cataracts. We’re exploring options for cataract surgery, and I’ll talk about a GoFundMe campaign that will help us give him a chance to see again.
Thanks for following along and supporting the channel, Huck, and our outdoor adventures.
