I can barely believe I'm putting this subject back on the easel! In this time-lapse painting video, I am taking on the massive challenge of re-painting one of the most iconic symbols of Filipino culture: The Bayanihan—this time on a large 24 x 30 inch canvas.
"Bayanihan" represents the heart of community, unity, and cooperation, where neighbors gather to lift and move an entire traditional Bahay Kubo (bamboo house) on their shoulders. Painting this scene at a much larger scale meant diving deep into complex group dynamics, human anatomy, natural bamboo/nipa palm textures, and sweeping rural landscapes.
